When it comes to adult education and college degrees, I really try and push the concept. In all honesty I feel that everyone should strive for a higher education. It has been made so convenient these days. I simply can't see why anyone wouldn't want to.

Age Is No Bar When It Comes To Education

They say that determination and strong will define your actions through your whole life and I am a strong believer of it.

For me, the week of adult education, celebrated in Armenia, is an appreciation and expression of the will and determination of the elderly people. 'Education and Career EXPO 2006', a three day exhibition, is just another feather in the cap of the efforts of adult education!

What else does one need to serve as a stimulant for one's efforts. To me, it is an amazing initiative. After all a boost is all you need!

Adult Education Needs To Take The Frontline

Are you aware of the term 'Adult Education'? You must be. Do you know that it is experiencing a dramatic fall from past some time? What, you didn't know that? Wake up buddy!

Fee hikes and reduction in courses brought about by Labor's funding policy have made a nuisance of government's efforts at creating an adult friendly environment.

The system, as per me, needs a change and an upward shift to overcome the deteriorating rate. We all need to contribute. I am ready, what about you?

Another Initiative To Boost Adult Education

Ongoing is the era of literacy and 'no age constraints please' is the call of the day. When it has become important for everybody to have formal education, whether he/she is 15 or 50 by age, the concept of adult education comes as a big relief and help.

As an extension of this very thought, the latest venture of the city of Bloomington and the Monroe County Community School Corporation Adult Education Program, announcing an initiative to increase the number of Latinos and other non-English speakers receiving GEDs must receive loud applauds!!

The sole idea behind this concept is to increase the high school graduation rate in the community and across the state and to prepare citizens to go into post-secondary education. Don't you think that the idea needs your support and appreciation?!

There is always a next chance to complete your education. Just like Christie Martin, the 49-year-old facilitator of New Milford's adult education program who has lent a new life to many adults like her. A former nurse by profession she took up studies again in her life and is now imparting the same message to others.

Three cheers for you Christie…Hip hip hurray!

Next time I wanna write about you! So go ahead.

Another Initiative To Promote Adult Education

Do you know that at least 52,133 adults in Spartanburg County aged 18 and older do not have a high school diploma. Of those, 17,585 have less than a ninth-grade education. Shocked?

Well, the figures are actually shocking. In the light of these figures, Ann Fesperman, Director of the Upstate Workforce Investment Board has decided to join hands with other organizations to devise an adult education program which would work towards lowering these figures.

Wanna lend a helping hand in this noble cause? Well, I am all set to join in, what about you?

Old Are Getting New Chances

For some people, age is no bar. And when it comes to education, what you need is only determination and dedication.

Moreover today's competitive and dynamic business environment requires constant up-dation of skills and knowledge. So why to shy away from education?

Do you know that, this month, thousands of graduates of the Class of 2006 will don their caps and gowns, proudly walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. And many of those graduates won’t be the traditional image of 20-somethings preparing for their first full-time jobs or families.

What other inspiration or motivation do you need? Just go for it!

A 'Fair' Chance For Adult Education!

Do every body get a 'fair' chance for adult education? Probably Not.

Adult Education is a noble cause. And spreading awareness about this cause is further more important a task. I appreciate every organization and government body that works to impart learning to grown ups. Recently, VEC and REGSA held a fair in County Waterford to provide increased access to lifelong learning opportunities to elderly people. Such fairs and events are the best platforms to get in touch with the latest developments and opportunities available. Especially for the adults who want to go ahead with their studies!
